Lianyungang Cardiovascular Hospital is a specialized hospital integrating medical treatment, health care, prevention, teaching and scientific research. The Hospital is the largest and most comprehensive cardiovascular hospital in this area. It consists of three departments as follows.

Cardiology department has achieved the domestic and the provincial advanced level in terms of the coronary heart disease, hypertension, heart failure, the diagnosis and treatment of arrhythmia and interventional cardiology. Cardiac surgery department has achieved the domestic and the provincial advanced level in terms of the coronary heart disease, valvular heart disease, congenital heart disease correction and minimally invasive treatment of the heart. Vascular surgery department has achieved the domestic and the provincial advanced level in terms of the thoracic and abdominal aortic dissection and aneurysm cavity treatment, abdominal aortic aneurysm open surgery, lower extremity arteriosclerosis occlusive disease, and deep vein thrombus catheter thrombolysis and open treatment.

The Hospital has a total of 194 beds, including 143 in cardiovascular medicine department, 27 in cardiac surgery department, 23 in vascular surgery department, 18 in CCU and 5 in ICU, respectively. There are 39 clinicians, including 9 chief physicians, 10 deputy chief physicians, and 5 physicians with M.D. or Ph.D. degree and 20 physicians with master degree currently. In the whole year, about 60,000 person-time out-patient clinics were achieved, more than 7,000 patients were discharged, 3,500 interventional operations (1,500 coronary stent implantation), more than 200 cardiac and macrovascular operations, and over 500 other operations were completed.
